Patricia Gayle Gates, 67, of Kennett Square died on Thursday, April 30, at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, surrounded by her loving family.She was the wife of Bill Gates, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Young Cox.
Mrs. Gates was employed as Director of The Encore Shop, a project of The Women’s Auxiliary to The Chester County Hospital in Hammorton, until her retirement. She was a member of the Kennett Square Presbyterian Church and the Kennett Square Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, cooking, going to yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Robin Tait and her husband, Stephen, of Middletown, Del., and Jennifer Lustgarten and her husband, Stephen, of Raleigh, N.C.; and six grandchildren, Lindsay, Shelley and Duncan Tait and Nicole, Jaquelyn and Avery Lustgarten.
